Gianna's Art Camp Play 2013: A Giant Comes to Town

Gianna's summer art camp culminates in a gallery showing of their work and a play of the kids' creation. This is a video of "A Giant Comes to Town." As it is very hard to hear, I'll give you the gist: a giant (the tallest girl at art camp) comes to the food court and terrifies the staff and customers at Dunkin' Donuts. (We live in Massachusetts, so where else would everyone be?) Shortly thereafter, though, the giant redeems herself by apprehending a bank robber and delivering her to justice.

Gianna's character is the sassy dog. Her favorite line is, "You've got some nerve, bub."

Gianna's June Groove School Recital

For her June recital, Gianna played a duet with Mrs. Mackers, her piano teacher. The song I knew about was "Home on the Range." But Gianna also surprised me--as a Father's Day gift, she had secretly been practicing "This Little Light of Mine" for weeks. While it unfortunately gets cut off here, I couldn't have been happier or more proud!

Gianna's  First Piano Recital

Gianna has been playing piano for about 10 weeks as part of the Groove School after-school program. For this night, she was scheduled to play a short song called "The Postman," but she surprised her teachers Mrs. Doreen and Ms. Mackers by saying that she would both play and sing. Enjoy!
